Wanted: Women to Run for Office!

Check out this great story in The Seattle Weekly about the need for more women to run for office and what local groups, like  the NWPC, are doing to increase those numbers. Thanks to Weekly reporter Nina Shapiro for covering this important topic!

2014 Women's Campaign Training

The NWPC-WA celebrated International Women's Day by training an incredible group of nearly 50 women to run for office!

Expert trainers and elected leaders shared information on campaign nuts & bolts, raising money, developing your message and honing your elevator speech, talking to voters, and much more!

Thank you to our trainers: Noel Frame/Progressive Majority WA, Raven McShane/Oldmixon Hill, Lorraine Howell/Media Skills Training, and Treasure Mackley/Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest

Thank you to our panelists: Redmond City Councilmember Kim Allen, Bellingham City Councilmember Roxanne Murphy, Thurston County Auditor Mary Hall, and Rep. Jessyn Farrell

Thank you to our sponsors: Argo Strategies, Brad Bosworth, Vicki Christopherson, Cerillon N4 Partners, The Connections Group, Northwest Passage Strategies, Nyhus Communications, Oldmixon Hill, Sound Strategies, Sound View Strategies, Progressive Strategies Northwest, and WinPower Strategies

And thank you to our committee and volunteers: Emily Wicks, Jaime Smith, Liz Berry, Linda Mitchell, Lauren Curren, Bree Rabourn, Megan Melloy, Melissa Gilbert, Tessa Rutledge, and Alexis Oliver!

New NWPC-WA President Elected

At our Annual Meeting on January 12, Linda Mitchell stepped down after leading the organization for 10 years and the membership elected Liz Berry as its next president.

Liz brings political experience, great networks, and a passion for getting women elected and involved in the political process and is the perfect leader to take the Caucus into its next 40 years! Read the press release here, and see Liz's letter to the membership, here.

The Caucus Celebrates a Big Birthday

The Caucus celebrated 40 years of electing women to office in Washington state in October with some noteable guests, including the Honorable Christine Gregoire, many elected officials, and many of the women who got the whole thing started! Photos of the event are available at our facebook page.
